【PDN News】On July 24, 2026, the grand symphony concert A Musical Tapestry of the Archipelago was held in Beijing to celebrate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in China and the Public Diplomacy Network, the event featured an outstanding performance by TRUST (Trinity Youth Symphony Orchestra), an internationally acclaimed non-profit Indonesian youth symphony orchestra. His Excellency Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, delivered a video address, while Dr. Irene, Vice Ambassador of Indonesia to China, attended the event together with embassy officials. Diplomatic representatives from Germany, Japan, Lesotho, Albania, Benin and other countries, as well as friendly personages from all walks of life, were invited to the concert. Melodious and graceful melodies wove the profound friendship between China and Indonesia forged along the thousand-year-old Maritime Silk Road. The venue was filled with a warm and joyous atmosphere, embodying the sincere bond between the two peoples.

In his video welcome speech, His Excellency Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun extended warm greetings to all attendees. He recalled the long-standing neighborly bond between China and Indonesia, two maritime nations that share weal and woe, spoke highly of the concert’s role as a musical bridge connecting the hearts of the two peoples, and voiced sincere expectations for deeper cultural exchanges between the two countries.

中方支持单位公共外交网负责人随后登台致辞表示，中印尼友谊由千年海上丝绸之路紧密相连，当下两国正携手共建中印尼命运共同体，人文交流是双边关系最温润也最坚实的支柱，音乐是不分国界的通用语言，相信今晚的活动必将进一步促进两国民心相通。

Mr. Liu Chunyang, Head and Editor-in-Chief of the Public Diplomacy Network took the stage to deliver a speech. He noted that China and Indonesia are bound together by the age-old Maritime Silk Road. As the two nations jointly advance the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, cultural exchanges stand as the softest yet firmest pillar of bilateral relations. Music serves as a universal language transcending national borders, and he expressed confidence that tonight’s event will further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Dr. Irene, Vice Ambassador of Indonesia to China, then took the stage to address the audience. She elaborated on the unique significance of cultural integration in consolidating the foundation of bilateral friendship and advancing the construction of the bilateral community with a shared future. She spoke highly of TRUST Orchestra for building a vital platform for youth cultural exchange between China and Indonesia through music, and extended sincere gratitude to the Public Diplomacy Network as a co-organizer of the event.

本次担纲演奏的TRUST乐团是印尼依托Trinity Optima Production设立的非营利青年交响基金会，由音乐总监、常驻指挥Nathania Karina博士全权带领运营，作为纯公益艺术团体，乐团筹措的全部资金都用于扶持青年团员的艺术学习与成长。这支青年乐团早已斩获多项国际重磅荣誉。2024年8月在WM曼恩基金会的资助下乐团完成全英国巡演，先后走进苏格兰皇家音乐学院、爱丁堡艺术节 fringe专场开展演出，巡演途中还荣获亚洲艺术大奖颁发的“2024年度杰出青年表演团体”称号。2025年7月乐团登上奥地利维也纳世界管弦乐节的舞台并一举拿下金奖。此次乐团来华参加2026国际青少年交流音乐会，斩获“优秀乐团奖”殊荣。

The performing ensemble TRUST is a non-profit youth symphony foundation established in Indonesia under Trinity Optima Production, fully managed by its Music Director and Resident Conductor Dr. Nathania Karina. As a purely public welfare artistic group, all funds raised by the orchestra are dedicated to supporting young musicians’ artistic training and development. The youth orchestra has earned numerous prestigious international accolades. In August 2024, with support from the WM Mann Foundation, the orchestra completed a nationwide tour across the United Kingdom, staging performances at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. During the tour, it was honored as the Outstanding Youth Performing Group of 2024 at the Asian Arts Awards. In July 2025, the orchestra claimed the gold award at the World Orchestra Festival held in Vienna, Austria. During its visit to China for the 2026 International Youth Exchange Concert, the orchestra was awarded the Outstanding Orchestra Prize.

当晚，这支兼具专业水准与国际口碑的青年乐团依次演绎十首经典曲目，徐徐铺展一幅鲜活生动的南洋群岛音乐画卷。《Sirih Kuning》、《Rasa Sayange》等印尼本土经典民谣率先奏响，热烈浓郁的热带风情扑面而来。中国传世民歌《茉莉花》婉转登场，清雅柔和的东方韵味流淌全场。独具特色的南洋旋律与温润典雅的中华乐曲交替碰撞，台下掌声此起彼伏、经久不息，在场所有来宾完全沉浸在这场跨越山海的听觉盛宴之中，切身感受中印尼两种文明和而不同、互学互鉴的独特魅力。活动尾声，主要来宾同乐团全体演奏家共同登台合影，定格这场友好文化盛会的珍贵瞬间。

That evening, the world-class orchestra presented ten classic musical pieces in sequence, unfolding a vivid musical panorama of the Indonesian archipelago. Iconic Indonesian folk tunes including Sirih Kuning and Rasa Sayange opened the show, filling the venue with rich tropical charm. The timeless Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower followed, filling the hall with gentle and elegant oriental grace. Distinctive Indonesian melodies intertwined with graceful Chinese tunes, drawing continuous, thunderous applause from the audience. Every guest was fully immersed in this transcendent musical feast across mountains and oceans, experiencing the unique charm of harmony and mutual learning between Chinese and Indonesian civilizations. To wrap up the occasion, distinguished guests and all orchestra musicians gathered on stage for a group photo, capturing precious memories of this cultural gala of friendship.
