Lunch Meeting with Ambassador Wu Hongbo, Special Representative for European Affairs

On 14th August, President Jörg Wuttke had a lunch meeting with Ambassador Wu Hongbo, first special representative for European affairs. The discussion covered topics such as Huawei, 5G, Tiktok in Europe, Hong Kong, European Union (EU)-China investment agreement, and United States (US)-China relations.

Ambassador Wu Hongbo was appointed by the Chinese Government as its first special representative for European affairs to promote sound and stable development of the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership, strengthen communication and pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. Ambassador Wu previously served as the UN under-secretary-general, assistant foreign minister, and Chinese ambassador to Germany and the Philippines.
